Hormone vocabulary:
HRT = hormone replacement therapy (this usually refers to replacement of
female hormones, but does not specify which ones)
Premarin = conjugated estrogens from pregnant mare’s urine
Prempro = a combination of Premarin and Provera
progesterone = a primary hormone of fertility and pregnancy
progestin = any compound that enhances the ability of the uterus to
support/maintain pregnancy
Provera = a specific patented progestin
