November 20, 2001 - This World Peace bumper sticker (3" x 11 1/2") is now for sale for $1.00 (just enough to cover the cost and allow us to give some away) at Ventura Chiropractic & Massage. Read below for how to purchase or print them yourself.

Thoughts: 1) Could these stickers be sold for school fund raising? 2) Would these stickers make great holiday cards? 3) Should you purchase a bunch of these stickers and give them away or sell them for the $1.00 you paid?

Cost: if picked up at our office - $1.00 each if we mail them to you in the US - $7.00 for 5 stickers – 5 sticker minimum – in groups of 5

How to obtain bumper stickers:
First, all purchases must be in cash. It won’t work for me to cash 500 $1.00 checks. :)

Second, if you live in the Ventura area, call our office 658-0123 and leave a message in box 2 stating; 1) your name, 2) your phone number, 3) how many stickers you would like, and 4) the day (M, W, or Sat) that you would like to pick them up (please give us 2 days notice). Our office is open from 9:00 – 6:00 on Mondays and Wednesdays, and 9:00 to 4:00 on Saturdays. Your stickers will be sitting on the desk with your name on them when you come in. If we are not with patients/clients, we will say Hi! and give you your stickers. If we are with patients/clients, please pick up your stickers and leave an envelope on the desk with your name on it with the cash in it. Thanks for your interest in peace!

Third, if you are from out of the area, and still in the US, please send us cash for the number of stickers that you want ($7.00/5 stickers – 5 sticker minimum – in groups of 5) along with your name and address. Mail to: Peace @ Ventura Chiropractic, 3160 Telegraph Road, Suite 103, Ventura, California, 93003. We will mail them out to you. Thank you for your interest in peace!

Finally, If anyone would like the original digital artwork so that they may print more bumper stickers, let me know and I will e-mail the file to the interested parties at no charge.

How This Peace Sticker Came To Be (November 20, 2001)
As the days and weeks rolled by after September 11, 2001, like many people, I spent much time considering life, humanity, the future, my life, and what choices I would make in responding to the changes in the world and to my changing awareness.

I found myself mildly embarrassed when I realized how few times the words "world peace" had crossed my lips in the 50 years of my life. Was it too big to imagine? Was I too busy with my own needs to recognize that the work and joy of world peace must be of the highest priority in my life? Or did I not feel the cold, the hunger, the pain, the sorrow, and the fear that others on this planet felt?

I decided that a small thing that I could do would be to get a "world peace" bumper sticker and maybe a button to help remind me of the importance. I went to the internet and searched for 2 hours for a vendor of these items. No such luck! They probably exist, but I couldn’t find them. Slowed, but not beaten, I finally considered designing and having my own stickers printed. I decided on the words "World Peace". Clever. And decided that I would use a graphic of the world, and one of a dove with an olive branch. Next I spent 4 hours on the internet trying to find the graphics (that I could use legally). No such luck!

To make the story shorter, I called SketchPad, my graphic artists, and had a beautiful bumper-sticker design in 12 hours. Next, a contract with Lightning Ridge to print 500 of my stickers. With 500 stickers now in hand, I have the opportunity to help myself and others maintain focus on a dream that is second to none. It’s a small contribution, but visible.
