Current Events/News Related to Chiropractic URGENT!!! Please act
by Wednesday, Sept. 3rd Chiropractic Patients Attacked by California Senator Speier (August 28, 2024) Senator Speier has authored Senate Bill 354 which claims to address the excessive costs of the California Workers' Compensation System. Senator Speier has proposed that to make the system financially solvent, that there is need to limit all injured workers (regardless of the severity of their injuries) to a lifetime maximum of 15 chiropractic visits. She has not proposed limiting injured workers' access to drugs, surgery, physical therapy, or any other treatments. Just chiropractic care. Obviously, this is unfair and unreasonable. If treatment needs to be reduced, then let it be for all providers and all patients. If our legislators were to make this restriction of chiropractic treatment the law in the State of California, private insurers would follow suit and reduce the chiropractic benefits that they currently provide. Please consider this seriously. Please join me in making sure that chiropractic patients and doctors of chiropractic are not discriminated against. You can call, fax, write, or all three. Even if you can only take the time for one phone call, please make it! When you call: state that you would like to leave a comment for the Senator or Assembly Member. Tell the aide who has answered the phone your feelings about SB 354; a 15-visit cap on chiropractic treatment is not acceptable, not rational, not fair to chiropractic patients, singles out Doctors of Chiropractic, chiropractic is often effective when medical treatments are not. When you fax: Identify yourself. Express your beliefs briefly and in a friendly and firm manner. State that your comments are in reference to the 15-visit cap on chiropractic treatment in SB 354. When you write: Identify yourself. Express your beliefs briefly and in a friendly and firm manner. State that your comments are in reference to the 15-visit cap on chiropractic treatment in SB 354. You should contact these Appointees to the Workers' Compensation
Conference Committee It is also important to contact your own State Representatives: If you live in or near Ventura, you are probably represented by: or Assembly Member Hannah-Beth Jackson Thank you! Working together we can protect our right to receive chiropractic care! Sincerely, Kristofer Young, DC
