POSTURE How you sit and stand affects your back and neck, but it also affects your breathing and digestion. Take a deep breath, put your shoulders back, and sit up tall. Look alive! Don't want to be bent over when you are old? Start now. Be conscious to be upright each and every day! Ask for help. Ask a friend or loved one to let you know when you are slumping. Tell him/her that you don't need a nag, but that you would love an occasional reminder. Children need to have good posture too. They don't need a slap on the back. Great posture is not about being rigidly upright. It has to do with being flexible, and balanced front to back and side to side. Ever taken a yoga class? How you feel about your self, your day, your work, your life, effects your posture. Your posture effects how you feel about everything. Chiropractic spinal adjustment can often help enormously with the development of good posture. Be sure to see your chiropractor for regular check-ups, just like you do with your dentist. |
