Cold and Flu

You know the drill; the following information is for discussion only. It is not treatment advice for you. See your doctor or just be responsible for your own health.

Many thoughtful doctors recommend one or all of the following when one is coming down with, or sick with a cold or flu:



  • 50,000 iu per day of Vitamin D3 for three to seven days
  • 1,000 mcg per day of Selenium for 7 days
  • 50-100 mg of zinc per day for 7 days
  • 5,000 mg of vitamin C per day until well
  • consume no dairy, gluten or sweetenings
  • keep refined starch to a minimum
  • drink fresh juice of carrots and green leafy vegetables - heavy on the green
  • if it is reasonable for you to be up, walk multiple times per day
  • if it is reasonable for you to be up, do yoga/stretching 30 minutes 2-3 times per day
  • if you are tired, sleep
  • skilled chiropractic spinal adjustment often aides recovery
  • skilled acupuncture often aides recovery
  • skilled massage often aides recovery
